A letter I wrote to my students
Dear,
Eight weeks. I might not do a lot for you.
But, I will give you all my best.
Every lesson, I see it as the last.
That’s why I will pour all of my love, passion and energy,
(And, very likely, my unstoppable sweat)
Just for you.
For I believe in every one of you,
I believe in the future you will be building one day, and
I believe in the power of education.
Remember, life is not about examinations or scores or achievements.
Life is more than that:
Be happy.
Don’t let negativity rule your life. Smile more.
Do what you love.
Life is too short not to.
Question more.
There is no model answer in life.
Love more.
Love your family, love your friends and love your world.
Think more.
Entertain any thoughts without first believing it.
Embrace failures.
You fall, so you learn how to pick yourselves up again.
Believe in yourself.
If you don’t, no one else will.
Be yourself.
Write your own stories, define your own life and create your own legends.
Take risk.
If you don’t try, you will never know.
Have faith.
The world becomes what you think of.
Dream wild.
Shoot for the moon, even if you fall, you fall onto the stars.
Care more.
When you care others, you feel the care, too.
Build a better world.
The future is in your hands. Make good use of it.
One day, even though you might forget the grammars,
the vocabulary or the pronunciation
I will have taught you in the coming eight weeks.
But, please, don’t forget these:
To live a good life, and
To build a better world.
I am and will be proud of
being with you for the coming eight weeks.
